Annual Picnic 2026: A Day of Community, Connection & Giving
BOISE, IDAHO — On Sept. 17, Beehive Federal Credit Union presented St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital with a $10,000 donation for their new interactive space to help children feel more comfortable in the hospital.
“When a child is sick or injured, a family’s world can change in an instant. In those moments, parents are focused on what matters most: helping their child heal,” said Dr. Beth Kleweno, the medical director at St. Luke’s.
The interactive space will transform an ordinary hospital hallway into a new place to explore. Designed to help children cope with the stress of a hospital stay, the space will respond to their movement and imagination.
Children will be able to design their own creations and watch them come to life on the wall. The interactive experience will transform their imagination into something they can see, celebrate and share with family and friends.
"We’re honored to help support St. Luke’s on a project that truly helps children in need,” said Craig Gummow, Beehive’s CEO. “The interactive space will inspire connection, healing and hope for young patients and their families.”
“Because of Beehive’s generosity, families can find comfort, connection, and even moments of joy during some of the hardest days they will ever face,” said Kleweno, “Beehive’s support helps create spaces and experiences that remind children they can still laugh, play, and simply be kids. Just as importantly, it reminds families that they are not alone.”
This gift is part of Beehive’s commitment to giving back to the communities it serves, which has included donations to Children’s Miracle Network, Idaho Falls Area Humanitarian Center and local schools, parks and students.
