Christian Godfrey
Christian Godfrey, son of Ririe and Diana Godfrey, was born and raised in Rexburg.
As a youth, Christian was an early adopter of the credit union advantage and opened his first Beehive account in 1984.
He served an LDS mission in Oakland, California, after which he attended Ricks College (AS), Idaho State University (BS), Boise State University (MS), and the University of Idaho (PhD).
Christian is married to Kathy (Coles) Godfrey, who works in the Alumni Office at BYU-I.
They have three sons: the eldest is an engineer in Boise, their middle son runs a services business in Rexburg and Bozeman, and the youngest is currently serving in the San Bernardino, California Mission.
Christian has dedicated over 25 years to the College of Eastern Idaho (CEI) in Idaho Falls, serving in progressively responsible roles, including faculty, program manager, division manager, and vice president of finance and administration.
While at CEI, Christian spearheaded the transition from EITC to CEI, securing funding and developing new programs that have broadened educational access for the Idaho Falls community.
Today, Christian is focused on what he enjoys most: teaching.
With a diverse background, Christian has taught classes for both the College of Eastern Idaho and the University of Idaho on technology, business, economics, leadership, e-commerce, education, and marketing.
While at CEI, he has earned a number of awards, including the Richard and Lila Jordan Outstanding Faculty of the Year, the Sam Walton Fellow for Students in Free Enterprise, the Idaho Lifelong Learning Association Outstanding Service Award, the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Economics Education Fellowship, the NISOD Educational Excellence Award, and the Jaime Escalante Teaching Award.
Christian's background in technology, business, and leadership, as well as his lifelong membership in Beehive FCU, will bring a historical perspective and progressive innovation to the board.
He hopes to give back to an organization that has helped him and other like-minded people come together to enhance all members' financial opportunities.
